Siding
Siding started about March 15th.
The start of the siding. We are using tounge and groove red cedar and #1 red cedar shigles. The yellow material under the tounge and groove is a product called Home Slicker® it allows air to circulate behind the siding. An absolutely brilliant product!
...
We simply used the normal two layers on the bottom course and lapped them onto the 1x6 thus eliminating the need for any type of flashing between the 1x6 and the shingles.
...
...
We used a guage as well snapping lines to keep the courses straight. There is a 7" exposure. The shingles are called '5x' they are 16" long.
